Biotronics Research Corporation Highlights

The Biotronics Research Corporation was founded in 1984 with the specific goal of developing new technology for the electromagnetic treatment of difficult human fractures.

Having observed that electromagnetic fields were being used clinically to treat broken bones and that the then-present delivery systems were frankly outmoded and inefficient, a collaboration began between a Physician (Dr. Myron MacDonald), an Engineering Designer (Mr. Max Bonneau), and a Physicist (Dr. Peter Boetzkes).

This collaboration resulted in the creation of a capacitively-coupled field generator for gently pulsing broken bones with electromagnetic fields. This is a unique achievement which has never been duplicated and our system remains the most efficient way to pulse biological systems with electrical currents. For over a decade we have tested and refined the generator and the delivery system. This tool has proved over time to be very effective in treating difficult human fractures.

At the advent of the new millennium we have turned our attention to pain associated with musculoskeletal complaints. We have found these pulsed fields to be generally beneficial in musculoskeletal disorders of an inflammatory nature. With the Matrix II we are proud to add a new tool to the therapeutic armamentarium of medicine.

The original and specific goal of the company was to create the best possible delivery system for pulsed electromagnetic fields in the treatment of human disorders. We have progressed well and remain dedicated to that goal.

We are a privately held company.
